Do we need another picture?

You might recognize some of these kids if you were at Atwater School for 5th grade.

I wasn't at Atwater but I recognize almost all of them. That darling little Anita Repins! This is much more the way I remember you guys than in that 20th reunion shot.

Who is that cute little boy next to the adorable Clark Korneisal? And the little girl next to him?? Anyone know what became of Dave Cavan? And by the way, does anyone know what's happened Rick Inman?

What a fabulous picture! I see little Dave Peterson, too. So sweet.

Jimmy Marx, Kathy Nelsen.
Wasn't it Jon Cavan?

Oh my gosh Jimmy Marx was THAT SWEET??? What a darling! And yes, it was Jon Cavan...I was thinking of his brother Dave. Any news of Jon? Jimmy Marx? Rick Inman?

And I did recognize Kathy Nelson, unmistakable and so cute! I meant the girl next to Jim Marx?

And I loved Mrs. Lagermann. I had her for 8th grade English. She was always so encouraging about my writing. If I ever get this book published I will send her a copy for sure. She meant a lot to me.

OH MY GOSH.
Jon Cavan, I would have never come up with that name, but did come up with Ingrid Belusa, & Mark Levenson,
Then there is Mark Hickman, Becky Willis, and Jenny Casey? Am I right? Do I win anything??
I will say Claudia that I HATED Mrs. Lagermanm, she didn't like me either.
I think that I have my fifth grade Atwater photo of Mrs. La"something"
class,I liked her.

Okay, I think I see Perry Andrews, Marta Tejara, Chuck Nicolas, Ed David, Jack Kenney, and the others you named...plus I think that kid next to Mark L. is maybe named Melvin?? Oh! Alison Dance! And I know I know that girl just below Allison and next to Jon Cavan but I can't think of her name!

Anita, you still look the same! How dare you.

Mrs. LeClaire, that was my fifth grade teachers name!.
Yes, Anita, you look exactly the same.
The girl in the glasses (second row, second from left, is Dennis Getter?). I cannot remember people I met last week, but these names are coming out of my head with ease, why is that?
Notice that those fashions are back?

WHo are the other two girls in the front row other than Anita, Kathy N
and Marta T? The girl next to Anita looks so familiar, I remember her but cannot place the name. She was very quite.

Laurel-- YOU still look exactly the same! I have way more wrinkles than you!
Claudia! Don't you recognize that cute Jodie Curro between Jimmy Marx and Patsy Stokes?? She had that little red or orange vest with the gold chains-- I still remember how cool that was!
Deb, that's Mike Hickman; Mark is older. Otherwise, you're doing well! But I think Claudia wins--maybe....
You know, Mrs. Lagerman (that's Dr. Lagerman now) was really nice! She even had us over for pool parties in her backyard!!
Next to Marc Levinson are Casey Calvert and Rick Cudahy, I believe. Below Alison Dance is Denise Getter.

Elisabeth (Ebbey) Williamson.

Ah-hah!! And where IS the exotic and lovely Miss Curro? And what of Elizabeth Williamson? I would love to know what's become of her!

Anita, it really is a bit uncanny how poised and centered you look in that picture for a fifth grader! But you ALWAYS looked that way! Just completely together. Defining cool, man!

(See, I'm already talking seventies, Laurel! It's the decade I identify most with, I guess!)

Hey everyone! Received an email from Lisa Nicholas Toner regarding the upcoming reunion and with it, Debbie R.'s email address. THanks Debbie for forwarding the blog info and instructions. I am more or less technically challenged and after spending about an hour last nite trying to figure out how to post, reading the instructions this a.m. proved to be quite helpful! Usually I leave this kind of stuff to my kids and husband as they are much more techno savvy than I.
Well...as I savor my first cup of coffee and look at all those cute pictures in the photo, I can't help but wonder "who the hell are all these sweet faces?". After a bit more inspection I began to figure out some, but others I am completely lost on. Just a sidelite-I'm a St. Bob's alumni. This is just way cool (Thanks Claudia) and very fun. I'm looking forward to the reunion and am available to assist with planning etc. Later....

Ms. Laggerman got married and she became Dr. Dewitt I believe.
That is Jodie Curro, and Ebby Williamson was the one that I was trying to place.
I will have to search around for some pictures myself, see if I canot find a class picture.
Luckly I was smart enough to store all my pics, unorganized as they are, in single cabinet!
I know that I have Mr. Baumeisters Sixth grade Atwater Class in there somewhere???

And who is that mystery guest who just signed in? Referred by Lisa Nicolas? You didn't leave a name!!!

Anonymous said...

Ok-I guess I don't have this figured out entirely. I am the mystery guest posted as SHS class of '76 I can't seem to log in so I am using the anonymous identity and including vital info (what a process!)

And yes, Deb, please post more pictures! I myself would love to see pics from high school as I haven't seen a yearbook since graduation day. I left mine in my locker and it was gone by the time I remembered it was there. I haven't seen ANYONE in 30 years!

Hi Patti!!! Great to see you!!

Hi Patti
Glad you made sense of the instructions that I sent you. You did better than most, (including me), Claudias step by step manual was invaluable.
If you click "Other" in the identity section, and just type in your name where it says, "NAME" then your name will come up with any comments you make. Unless of course you want to remain anonymous?
Deb.

I have many pictures, but am clueless about scanning, then posting? Will have to wait for my 16 yr old, for a lesson.
I have a printer, scanner, copier, combo, so I know know that it can be done.
I have just been to the dump, time to sweep up my hallway and shower.
Such a glamourous like I lead!!

Awwwww...

As someone who came in eighth grade, I am having a hard time following the conversation and the IDs. Does one of you smart people with a bit of time on your hands want to take a crack at IDing from front row to back, left to right? I think I see my beloved friend Jodie Curro, but she's actually taller than other people, so that can't be her!

Will someone help me out?

OK, let's back up here a bit for Joan's sake-- front row(L toR):Patsy Stokes, Jodie Curro(you'll have to ask her about the height thing,)Jimmy Marx, Clark Korneisel, Kathy Nelsen, Elisabeth Williamson, me!, and teacher Audrey Lagerman. second row: Ingrid Belusa, Denise Getter, Jon Cavan, Brian Cazel, Mike Hickman, Rick Inman, Jenny Casey. third row: Greg Reistad, Perry Andrews, Alison Dance, Dave Peterson, Casey Calvert, Marc Levinson, Rick Cudahy, Becky Willis. last row: Tom Woods, Hugh ?, Charles Nicholas, Ed David, Marta Tejera. whew!

Wow, thanks Anita! I was only sure about Jodie and Rick...and Becky Willis! That made my day.

Hello all, chiming in to let you know that the fella with the name Hugh, is Hugh Wakefield. I remember him well. It was fun trying to remember names and faces. Thanks for the memories!
So glad we are getting together. I am really looking forward to it.

Anonymous said...

I'm thinking it was Hugh Humphries?
That Tom Woods was a cutie, if I recall. What ever happened to him and Allison Dance, who was one of 10 kids I think? I don't remember Casey Calvert in the least? I am sure however that it is Jodie Curro
Now that was nostalgic.

Story!

That's what I was just thinkin: Story!
Hey Story!! There you are!! Hi from Montana.

Do you remember the first day of school at SIS? I sat next to you in the gym and I had just shaved my legs for the first time in my life that morning, taking a long, terrible length of skin off my leg...I was sort of a bloody wreck, trying to act natural, and we're sitting there, and in this friendly, cautious way you look down at my leg and finally say, "Cut yourself shaving?"

I'm laughing out loud here, Story. It was surely the understatement of the decade!

Great to see you here! lc

You guys are freaking me out! I can't remember anybody! Once somebody says the name I have a slight prayer but it really must be Alzheimers. I do know that Casey Calvert moved to Texas. I remember that only because he came back to visit once when we were in high school. Allison Dance moved to Denver but I don't know what happened to her after that.

Is the blonde guy in the middle Hale Alverson?

Hi Story, I don't think I saw this -- once the posts move off the front page I forget to check comments. Thank you! Can't wait to see you in July...

Audrey Lagerman became Dr. Audrey DeMonk. She stopped teaching and became the Shorewood School District shrink until she retired a few years ago. I remember this class and this year vividly. This picture was taken in the fall of 1968. Maybe a month after the Chicago Democratic Convention when Daley's cops clubbed the yippies. Mexico City Olympics, black power salutes. A few months later Nixon was elected (the class had a mock vote and Nixon won. I couldn't believe it.) The Tet Offensive was in the previous January, King was assassinated the previous spring and Bobby Kennedy was killed in June. It was just part of the background noise at the time, but when I think back on it, it was amazing. Yeah, Jimmie Marx looks sweet here. He wasn't though.

Rick?? Rick WHO??

Unknown said...

Rick Cudahy -- I wasn't sure how to sign in to this thing, Claudia.

Anonymous said...

Rick I'm so glad to see you here! Didn't mean to be so blunt about wondering who you were.

Now I'll be blunt about this too: Where are you? What are you doing?

And the big one: will you be coming to the reunion? With family???
