Anatomy Of A Blog

Today's lecture will be on blog posting, and that's me in the hat, by the way.

People change.

I think I might have misled some of you with that stuff over there on the left about "blog authors" and passwords and all that. All any of us need to do to post is simply click on the "Comments" at the end of any post...and then start blabbering away.

Easy-schmeezy.

If, however, you want to post your own entry with a title and all that stuff like I'm doing right now, THEN you will need our blogger I.D. and password.

You can see, for instance, that Jane Levy has already contacted me for the password, etc., and I have posted her name as a soon-to-be author of a soon-to-appear post (I hope). ANYONE can do this, or, as I've already said, they can just hit comments and start writing.

Simple-om....schmimple, I guess.

All right. See you in the comments section, and have a swell day!

Is that a greyhound? I thought it was a reindeer.

I've been living in Iowa for the past 9 years with my husband and two daughters, 17 and almost 13. There were a couple of stops in between now and high school. Basically life is good. I'm a physician assistant (13 years now)in the family practice clinic in our rural town.

If anyone's interested in more details, I can write again later. I don't have many memories of high school other than wanting to get through it as fast as possible. Our 17 year old is having much more fun than I ever did at that age.

Hoping you are well, Class of '76, and looking forward to hearing about all of you.

Thanks for noticing the greyhound. Ho ho ho.

And a seventeen year old, Rebecca? When did YOU start discussing the drug stuff with your kids?

Thanks!

As soon as it started coming up in coversation...along with the "no glove, no love" talk.

I'm sure others of you have teenagers, too. Of course I don't want them to do a fraction of the risky things I did at that age (not even ready to admit to my kids yet that I did stuff like that). But my basic philosophy is stay close emotionally, give them some lattitude and freedom but let them definitely know what the boundaries are, make my beliefs clear (drugs are bad, smoking is bad, getting drunk or underage drinking is bad, sex is OK if you're old enough, ready, and informed), and hope for the best. I guess time will tell.

YAY!! Thanks Rebecca! That helps. And Jim Neubaurer had some excellent stuff to share on this, too, only he wrote it to me in an (ahem) email -- say Jim -- I wonder if you'd like to share that OR ANYTHING with the rest of us???

Claudia,

Now that my meds have worn off, I noticed there's more to this blog than I groggily first noticed.

Yes,I knew, right away, it was you in that silly hat in the 10/11 blog pix - I recognized you right away by the facial hair.

Although it looks to me that you've gained a few pounds from the "sway back" years, yet ya haven't lost your fashion sense of walking around in a black robe all day!

Hey but, what's up with your esteemed colleague two beards to the left? Looks to me like he's more interested in a different, stiffer appendage than Mr. C's left arm.

Sway back years indeed! Who in the heck (note the clean mouth, fella) was looking, anyways, Mr. I'm-All-Quiet-And-Smart-And-Just-Minding-My-Own-Business guy, huh? Who, I want to know.

And plus I thought I didn't get that big black robe 'til after I graduated. And how you YOU know so much about it, anyways?

Signed,

I agree with Rebecca on raising teenagers. I also agree that your greyhound looks like a reindeer at a glance, but if you click to enlarge, you see that it's a dog. Why the jingle bells? And are you going to post a picture of "Agatha"?

Anonymous said...

Oh yes, Anita! I did post a picture of Agatha already: if you go to the words "family dog" in that post and click on them, you will see a picture of our darlin pooch. There is a link to Gary's obituary, too.

Everyone can do this by choosing "hyperlink" in compose mode of comments...
