Laurel, you're not slow. Look at all those lurkers out there still not posting! Tell us more...when you feel like it. I get to LA only rarely but I would love to see you!
Yes, I am wondering who Cindy Moorbeck is as well? Claudia, did you post that name? Also while on the subject, what ever happend to Robin Wren? I recall that Bano said at the 10th (or 20th), that she was very ill. Does anyone know? Deb R.
Jim N. sent me an email last night asking me to add Cindy's name. It is a sad story of the worst kind of spousal abuse. I am waiting to hear from him -- if she is who I think she is she wore glasses and hung around with a girl named Debbie in 7th grade. I tried to find out more about her on google but could not. Jim, would you mind filling people in with what you know?
As to Robin Wren, I saw her name on Classmates and meant to get in touch but never did...
As to Cathy Billings, I know that Jane Levy is still in touch with her although I haven't been in touch myself. Wouldn't it be great if she showed up. And by "she" I mean Cathy, Jane, and Robin -- all three! Ladies!!!
As I wrote to Claudia last night in an e-mail, I was reminded of Cindy's death in the past week when a co-worker had to go into hiding with her daughter to get away from her abusive boyfriend. I only wish Cindy would have been able to. I remember watching the news about 13-15 years ago, maybe longer, when they reported that a man had at first taken his wife hostage and then killed her in front of their 2 children. Previously Cindy had left him and had gone to a battered woman's shelter. She then had departed the shelter and was trying to get a new life going. I remember seeing the picture of the woman and recognizing her from SHS, though with a different last name I wasn't sure. Coincidentally, I ran into the news reporter at a charity event within a couple of weeks from the tragedy and confirmed that she was indeed the Cindy from our high school (Claudia, in regards to your question, she did wear glasses, but I don't know if she attended the intermediate school with us). Candidly I don't think I ever talked to Cindy ever in high school and I don't even know if she graduated with us, though I pulled out an old Copperdome and saw her with us at least through 11th grade. May her memory be a blessing.
I found Cindy in the '75 yearbook, and recognised her immediately, I guess it was the name that didn't click. Very sad, and thanks for telling us her story. De R

I heard that too. From Cathy Billings-Johnson. Does anyone know where Cathy is? Last I heard, she was in Florida-- but that was some time ago.

That Cindy Moorbeck is in the yearbook, just not senior year. How sad.
