Is John Larroquette related to our principal?

I love this, Anita! Talk about ancient history and dinosaurs! (talk about us?!)

Well, that '74 Copperdome is quite the relic-- it's the 50th anniversary special with photos & info that is twice our age-- now I don't feel so old anymore....

Buzz Stephens said...

And I'm staying till he says I'm the son he never had!

I imagine we'll be down there for a long time...

Sorry Dave

Hi You all
Yes, that l974 Copperdome is a real historic document. It was the 50th anniersaary one!
Anway, I found the famous 20 Year Reunion Book that someone put together (VERY CAREFULLY). Bano sent it to me, even though I did not go. It is VERY detailed. Everything is in there, but our social security numbers and shoe sizes!!! Photos from the tenth reunion too. I guess we all filled out survays as well??? Joan, they were "unable to locate you"!!!?? Anyway, I am sending my copy of this to Peggy, since she is compiling the master list.

I was getting a little miffed because Anita hasn't forwarded me the SIS pic's, but after seeing this I think I'm grateful.

Here I go with the obscure references again (just tell me to stop and I will), but did anyone here see the Maysles brothers film called SALESMAN? It's about traveling bible salesmen, and Lloyd and Dick look exactly like the guys in that movie.

I can't wait till we start sharing stories about these two.

and yes, Lloyds resemblance to John Laroquette in this photo is uncanny.

Deb-- when you say "sending" do you mean email or the other? I have it scanned in and emailed it to Claud-- but it's 61 pages and 5.10MB; therefore, a real long download. If anyone else wants that-- let me know. It could be put on a CD?

Were you guys talking about David Phinney having passed away? He wanders around the eastside of Milwaukee. Or did I miss the Dave Peterson reference? We waited tables together at Primas on Downer. -Jodie

okay, you think you had it bad, but Dr. Geiken was my next door neighbor.

Imagine the time I got pulled into his office with my mother because I loudly and flamboyantly left a boring assmebly with my guest, a young man who had a striking resemblance to David Bowie. But really, is there any other way to exit a dull assembly about northern birds? Why would we want to sit there?

So Dr. Geiken says to my mom that if that "thing" ever was on campus again, I would be expelled. And my mom proved what a cool broad she is by saying, That thing you refer to is one of the nicest young men I have met and has been a guest in my home many times. And his father happens to be president of the bank (I have to leave out the dramatics here because I forgot the name of the bank.)

and then we had to say hello over our white fences whilst grilling in the backyard.

Buzz Stephens said...

Oh thats bad, really bad. When you think of worst case High School scenario's living next door to the principal has to rank in the top ten. I'm really sorry Jane, I never knew that, how awful for you.

Buzz Stephens said...

Thanks Anita, I got the pages.
I sorta see what Claudia and Joan were talking about, but more than just ancient, those pictures from SIS look downright creepy. We all look so posed and artificial, like extra's in Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.
It's not our fault though, as you go from pic to pic you see it's the photographers, dead, wooden style. I'd hate to see his portfolio...

Buzz Stephens said...

it's too bad we can't set up a photo album here, so everyone can see all the pics and not just the ones selected for posting, but I doesn't look like blogspot offers that feature. I can make albums over on my site and if people wanted to traipse over there to see them I wouldn't care, but there should be some way to do that over here...

Buzz Stephens said...

Jodie, what do you mean when you say Dave Phinney "wanders around the east Side"

Buzz Stephens said...

oh , where are my manners? Hi Jodie Curro, Long time no see!

Buzz Stephens said...

I didn't have much to do with Geiken except for senior year when I would read the announcements. For some reason he would take issue when I would insert unapproved items or add color commentary.
Geske was a beast to me, he disliked me on a personal level and he let that dislike guide some of the professional decisions he made about me. I don't know about the rest of you, but I thought he was a petty and vindictive man.

Anonymous said...

Hi, Jodie! Are you in Shorewood or out-of-town?
I believe the reference to Dave P's passing is meant to be about Dave Peterson's car accident.

Anonymous said...

hey Jodie. I worked at Prima's too with Dave P...but, i made the pizzas and steak pizziola heros, scotcha's, etc. Looong time. Good food. Took a lot of pizzas home. I'm heading into Shorewood today. Think I'll take some pics.

Anonymous said...

Andy,Jodie-- you both need to be more specific than just "Dave P" since there are 2 of them. We're traveling in a time warp here-- and that's confusing enough....

Unknown said...

Yes, we do need to clear that up -- it sounds like Dave Phinney is fine and living on the east side, but there is some confusion on this blog!

On a happier note, how cute is Jimmy Neubauer in that photo Anita posted here? I was just looking at an equally adorable one of him -- and me, but I'm less adorable -- in the '76 Copperdome, pretending to work on Ripples...I wish I knew how to scan and post photos.

Anonymous said...

done!

Anonymous said...

Anita that picture is too excellent. You guys look so...sweet, promising...what is the word?? Young -- that, too!

Unknown said...

I can't stop laughing -- when you blow it up, it's so much more interesting than it was in the Copperdome. Jimmy, why were you staring at me like that? Did I have lunch on my face? What were you doing with your hands?

Thanks, Anita. It's like the old saying goes, Be careful what you wish for!

Anonymous said...

"Hey, where's my dirty mop....Oh...wait...it's on Little Jimmy's head!"

And his hands are where they always were...either in his pants or mine!

What..me jealous! God...the kid does have gorgeous hair, though...even better than Ms. LB's I'm afraid Joanie!

Unknown said...

I don't even know what all of that means, Mr. Kimmy J's Master Baiter (I think that's also Jimmy Lee's master mentor? Tormentor?), but my sides hurt from laughing.

Yes, his hair is nicer than mine or Laurel's by far, but not yours, or KJI's. Don't even think about it!

Anonymous said...

Joan-- maybe if you put it together as one word....

Unknown said...

Ah, yes, Anita...well, I did get that one word joke, but I really wasn't sure about the mop...and I also wanted to make sure I was addressing Jimmy's mentor, so the whole picture was clear...Plus, let's be fair here, Jimmy's hands are in plain sight. I still don't know what he's doing with them -- folding up columns of stories, maybe? God, I can't remember. We don't have to fold up stories any more thanks to the Internets.

I'm hoping Jimmy will check in, and clear up a lot of these mysteries, but he's probably still blushing at all the compliments, and the jealousy of his hair...

Actually I remember that day vividly. I had just left Mitch who was sobbing in the halls because he felt no one liked his hair and or him for that matter, except for Mr. Geitzen. Being the nice guy I am, I was trying to convince Joan and Mike Hickman to take him to the youth center for a malt. Even Mike Hickman, who liked almost everyone, feigned indifference. If you look closely at my fingers, I was trying to count the number of people who enjoyed Mitch’s company. I almost got to one.

Anonymous said...

Mitch, you don't have to take that sh*t, it's obvious he's lying. They never sold malts in the youth center.

Anonymous said...

You sure got in a lot of pictures, JIM.

I didn't.

Anonymous said...

well, Claudia, you said that, according to Mrs. Fritsch, your hair was stringy-- it was lacking all that body that the ever-so-photogenic Neubauer coiffe has....

Anonymous said...

I tried to get in as many pictures as possible so that 30+ years later, people would think I was important in high school. Claudia, you sure caught me in a lie. I knew the malt thing was a dead give away. I was actually trying to impress Joan and Mike Hickman with my ability to make hand puppets. Even Mike Hickman ignored me!

Anonymous said...

Sigh. Jim, you WERE adorable. I'm sure that's how you got in all those pictures.

(pause)

Say...who was taking pictures back in those days, anyway? That could be a little piece of the puzzle right there!

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Anita!

Good morning from Michigan, for any early risers out there on Eastern Time.
I don't know how I did that-- but you can enlarge the other three pictures twice-- the Ripples pic just once.

Great pics Anita, you are a wiz at this.
Mr. Ferarra was wonderful. I liked Mr. Geske too, he was a charactor.

Hey Joan,
Just in from the deer stand...
When you never stop drinking...you never have to start!!!

Anyways, as you so correctly guessed many posts ago, my hardware "equipment" is fine, its my software that needs a little "work. When
I first saw the picture of my protege, you, and Mike, I only got the top half of it. In fact, all pictures on this blog are cropped from the head down (or is it heads up) on my PC thanks to IE7 and Mr. Gates plot for us to log on and download 57 patches @ 4.5 Gigamegabits each.

This makes it much easier for me to imagine y'all naked from the waist down!

Re: the Glove: Remember, Jimmy had/has that rare sweating hands and feet disease. Since he was a huge Michael Jackson fan (especially after the song, Ben, went double platinum - Jimmy's best friend at the time was a rat)I suggested he wear gloves ala The Strange One. Nobody told Jimmy that Michael never wore winter gloves!

Hope this helps fill in the gaps...

I have Mike Hickman's e-mail address and run into to him once in a while ... I'll see if he's game to give his opinion of your famous journalism brain trust photo.

It's almost as good as the famous shot of Woodword and Bernstein and Ben Bradlee (sp?) of the Washington Post during Watergate.

Wow, who is a better GQ guy, Dave and his golf swing, or Dan B and this suave tux?? Toss up.
These are great. (Is that Barb Hogan stuffing her face??)

Unknown said...

That is indeed Barb Hogan!

Anita, you are a genius, those exact photos jumped out at me the other day!

Anonymous said...

That is indeed Barb Hogan trying hard to choke down that pie! But the best part is Deanna Gore's expression-- a combination of delight & disgust-- that is too cute!

Anonymous said...

OK-- where did it go & who's messing with it??

Anonymous said...

Those are so, so cute. They make me happy and sad....where's Mitch? I need a hug!

Buzz Stephens said...

Deb, Dave is definately the better GQ guy. I mean look at my hair. Why oh why did I let Erin McDermott play Barber and cut my hair throughout senior year? I mean she was a pretty girl, and sweet and all that, but she had the hands of a Butcher!
Too bad I never asked Martine Powers what she thought of my haircuts, maybe then there wouldn't be so many embarrassing pictures like these...

Anonymous said...

...but Dan, it's so 70's-- you know you're going to have to do it that way again for the reunion....

Anonymous said...

That style is definately coming back, as some of the other styles of the 70's

Buzz Stephens said...

My theory on Retro Fashion is "If you could wear it the first time around you have no business wearing it the second time around".

Anonymous said...

Dan, I have heard that quote as well regarding Retro Fashions. I guess that means none of us should wear anything from the 70's at the reunion???? Thank God, I for one am very releived. I shipped my last, and best, vintage '70's garment to the SHS costume department last year.
Now we don't have to worry about poofy hair in pony tails.
BUT we could all wear l940's stuff, none of us have worn that, (except Dan E.)

Buzz Stephens said...

Yes, Dan E. of course, and Patti B. too. Let's not forget that she was one of the Andrews Sisters in her last life!
Whoah, I just had an idea. Who wants to see Patti and Dan dancing to the sounds of the Big Bands at the reunion? I know I do, man, I would show up just to see that!

Anonymous said...

YES Dan, great idea. Oh Anita, there is that great picture of Patti in the C'Dome of Anything Goes! AND I am still waiting for you to post the pic of you, Sally Kneiser and Brenda getting that trophy for V Ball......

Anonymous said...

I told you, it doesn't sound like Brenda will budge.
But it does sound like Patti & Dan E are key to getting Dan B out--
Patti? Dan?

Patti Breitbach Rashid said...

I think the Lindy would be better left to Dan and his wife but... if it gets Dan B on that silver bird to WI, I'll be calling Fred Astaire right after I post this. One condition tho- absolutely NO AERIALS!!

But it is such a good picture of YOU Anita.....
