Cheese & Slackers

She's got both...or has one and is the other.

Anyway, do I understand that we want to use "Cheese & Slackers" as the name for our recipe blog?

What about our "user name"...you know, for our profile?

And password ideas?

And slogans?

OH MY GOSH. As usual you have come up with the perfect graphic to continue our most interesting conversations and subject matter.

That picture is priceless!

Anonymous said...

Claudia,
I can't stop laughing - that picture is hysterical!

Anonymous said...

bhlaaaahahahahahaha
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
lololololololololol
Now the ? is who is that???

Unknown said...

Peggy, can we all get cheese bras as party favors for the reunion?

Anonymous said...

Along with the party favor idea - maybe they can "double" for chip and dip bowls as well?
Not even this has gotten the guys back on line???? If not this, then what?

Buzz Stephens said...

I'll never look at a box of Cheese Nips in quite the same way.

Anonymous said...

Joan, I think you would wear that well. With your hair and all, you could do the earrings too!
Well, I'm home tonight with a sick little one, had to cancel plans, but last night was great it's truffle season, had risotto with white truffles.
Sorry, back to food I can't help myself!

Anonymous said...

Oh, I forgot, we're in the cheese and slackers part, so it's ok.

Anonymous said...

Joan,
What a great reunion idea - cheese bra party favors. I'll have to ask my mom where she got that:]

Unknown said...

I'm laughing so hard at that Peggy!

I'm happy to use "the Google" as our president says to see where we can buy them in bulk! Those of us who live outside Wisconsin are proud cheeseheads, but...we don't like the heads so much. How better to show our state spirit than to attend summer parties in a cheese bra!

Laurel, you're right, I'll look for the earrings, too.

Buzz Stephens said...

oh, I see some of you are here right now. Good Evening!

Buzz Stephens said...

Dayum, nobody is saying hello back.

I have recipe's...

Anonymous said...

Hi Dan -let's have em...

Anonymous said...

Good Evening to you Dan b, whatever the rest of your name is! So, what do you think about the cooking blog? Will you contribute or just cook from
it?
Both is fine, but we would like you to wear the cheese bra at the reunion, if that's ok with you.

Buzz Stephens said...

Oh no Laurel, I have enough cheese inside of me already, I can't wear it on the outside too.
But I would certainly enjoy seeing all of you in your cheese bra's. But that plastic one looks, well, cheesy. I think you guys should have yours made with real cheese. And just think, after they are no longer a source of amusement they can be served with the crudite.
Hi Peggy

Unknown said...

Laurel! We finally have one man willing to blog here, after all the talk of recipes and sexiest men, and you're trying to make him wear the cheese bra? What are you thinking?

Let's see if it'll work!

Hi Dan!

Buzz Stephens said...

evenin' Ms. Walsh

Anonymous said...

I'm still laughing too much, though I'd rather you boys be the crudite! HEY, were working on the food blog, the least you could do is participate where we need you.

Anonymous said...

Joan, I think he's man enough. Right Dan, whatever your name is!

Anonymous said...

Does that woman have a belly button jewel or is that just lint?

Anonymous said...

LET'S HOPE IT'S JEWELRY!

Anonymous said...

I doesn't matter - she seems so happy! Maybe we should find out who she is and invite her to the reunion.

Anonymous said...

As I sign off for the night , I would like to say one thing, I'm so grateful for the fact that we have all connected again. What a different reunion this one
will be. xxox-L

Ahem...

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a C&S Blog:

http://cheesenslackers.blogspot.com

our username is: slackercooks@yahoo.com

our password is: shorewood

I have not done much on the blog as you will see -- we need to decide how we want to decorate it, define our ABOUT US thing (I've called us, temporarily, Bon Vivants of 76) --- anyway, you'll see it's a bit plain because I want everyone in on the design and also lets find something better to say under our name...I was just filling in the space there.

This could be pretty cool, is all.
...End of announcement...

Anonymous said...

Me too, Laurel!

Anonymous said...

What's the user name and password for food blog? You don't get an "other" option.

Anonymous said...

Oops, I just read it above. Dah.

Anonymous said...

Peggy and everyone else, too: there is a link now to our food site -- see up in left corner where it says HUNGRY? Click on the words, CHEESE AND SLACKERS.

You will see it needs much in the way of design and definition. What a lovely, artistic way to spend your Saturday! love c

Great job, Claudia! And I second Laurel -- it is so wonderful to have reconnected with all of you...fun, but something more than fun.

joan,
i have the beads and will bring them for you to wear with your cheese cups. sorry, i don't have the matching earings. the bloggers that still reside in wisco should have no problem locating a stunning pair like that.

huge game today here in ohio - ohio state is one of my son's desired colleges, so go buckeyeys!
madison alumni is planning a bowl weekend should the badgers make it there. any chance of them making it to one of the bowls???

ANNOUNCEMENT:

I have just fixed the comments section on our food blog -- I'm sorry, I had no idea is was so impossible to leave a comment. Everyone knows how to post, right?

Also: I need recipes for fairly healthy Thanksgiving side dishes -- vegetables, cassaroles, desserts.
Anyone got a favorite?

Anonymous said...

p.s.

Are we going to get our cheese bras before or after the hair party?

(That really sounds awful, when you read it twice.)

Anonymous said...

Well, I'm off to a Bucks game, not a big basketball fan but hey the tickets were free. Hope you all enjoy your Sat. night.

Story, I'm picking the Packers to Win at home, your pick???
Anybody else think they will Win?

Goooooooo Packers!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

claud, i am laughing soooooooooo hard.
martine, unfortunately the only packer games that are televised here are their monday night games. yes, it is very sad.
i second your elation - gooooo packers!!!!!
hope you had fun at the bucks game.

Did you know that those goofy bras cost $35?

Anonymous said...

I know and can't believe they actually sell them. Or that ppl buy them!

Anonymous said...

Not only do people buy them, but this woman actually thought it through, buying, accessorising, looks like she mighta made a skirt too. Or maybe she had to shop for that.

I'm glad most people like her, I almost took her down a few minutes after I put her up because I thought...well...cheese and slackers, you know...might be a little offensive.

Anonymous said...

Oh I know many people buy them, mostly for silly, funny gifts. (I actually might have to get one, as my family does a funny gift exchange on New Years)!
Speaking of the Pack,(Oh, sorry about the game), but when I was at the Pack/Pats game here several years ago, I could have sold two dozen of my cheeseheads in the parking lot, and made a fortune. Sports fans just want them cause they are such a coversation piece, and so SILLY. They started "Chowda Heads" here, and they bombed, that is because they are VERY ugly. Cannot beat the simplicity of the cheesehead, & bra?????

Anonymous said...

Ahh, so there IS a limit to how unappetizing these things can get...what a relief. Maybe I'll go looking for a pic of the chowder head thing...thanks for the tip, Deb!

Anonymous said...

Trust me the ?Chowda head? thing, is very ugly, and does't look too much like a bowl of Chowder either?
Deb

Anonymous said...

I'll have to agree with Deb--
I would never have even guessed that THAT is a bowl of chowder.

Patti Breitbach Rashid said...

Uggh! I can see why the cheese head hats and bras would be popular. At least they look like something to be eaten rather than something that has already been eaten.
I think we should have a contest for the most unique hand crafted cheesehead garb. We could auction off the op to be "honorary judges" and then silent auction the pieces at the reunion. Who knows-maybe they'll end up in a future Zucker bros. film or one of Laurel's husband's horror flicks!

Patti Breitbach Rashid said...

Is that a sunburned scorpion on that chowda head?

Anonymous said...

little blue sailor's hat with a red bow?

Anonymous said...

I'm telling you New Englanders just don't have a sence of humor, they just don't get it. If possible, the ones that I saw at the Gillette stadium gift shop were even uglier?

Anonymous said...

Patti's comment about Laurel's husband's horror movies inspired me. And plus I am just learning how to use my photo editor. Fun! lc

hope my creation is okay with you, Laurel! :}

Anonymous said...

Loved it! Can't wait to show my husband! I went to the Barbra Streisand concert last night, I have never seen her preform live before, it was really great and the Bush impersonator very funny.
I'm glad to see all the recipes.Since I'am remodeling I stored away all book, recipes and magazines. I decided that for whatever time I was out of my house and in this rental house, I would only do new recipes. So it's been a great experience trying new things in the kitchen.

Anonymous said...

"Memories......like the corners of my mind....misty, watercolored memories.....of the way we were" (Has it really been 30 years since seeing most of you?). sniff, sniff, boo hoo. The concert must have been so cool.
Patti: love the graphic. At first I did think that there were 17 spoons digging into the chowder!
Good for you for trying graphics on the computer.

Patti Breitbach Rashid said...

Hey Deb, can't take credit for any graphics. That's waaay out of my league. I do know how to screw up a blog entry tho!!

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry you guys, I've been running around like crazy, checking the blog every once in a while, leaving pictures without explanations! It's been a weird week.

I did the chowderpinhead, and was inspired, on one of my runs through the comments, by Patti mentioning something about chowdaheads and horror movies...anyway, I do intend to get back soon and stop leaving these cryptic little drawings around.

love c

Claudia, stop apologizing. Love the funny graphics just pop up!
Everyone of my weeks are weird, as are most of ours I bet.

Thoughts are with Garys family this Thanksgiving. How hard it is - that first holiday without your loved one.

Anonymous said...

Lots to be thankful for ... friends, family, and health for starters. And I just played golf in 55 degree weather in WI in late November. Have a good holiday.

I too would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
