Ha.....caught you Joan, only for the last five seconds, but I caught you......looking good............
Where did you get that pic from Claudia, (or is this Anita). Isn't there a pic of someone strangling someone in the Copperdome, we could use??????

Anonymous said...

The picture is from google images, you goofball! And I'm not telling who put it up there, either!

Anonymous said...

oh shit!

Anonymous said...

Heah, No talking Politics, or SWEARING either.

Anonymous said...

and that was 8:30-9:00 Michigan time.
Deb, don't ask Claudia about Copperdome pics-- she'll be sad. Remember she doesn't have any.
Joan, you are amazing!!
Claudia, she's not gonna kill you. And if anyone missed the show, it's recorded & we can do a link or a DVD.

Claudia, I'm not going to kill you. Ever!

I'd never have done that myself but that's what friends are for. I thank you!

I do so much cable news SCREAMING it was odd to be able to just have a conversation and I couldn't tell if it was good but...thank you Claud, and thank you guys for watching. Let me tell you it's bizarre to start your TV career at 48. All this is new for me...and strange.

But I just took a second look at this thread and am wondering who anonymous is...he/she has some anxiety about being here...who is it?

Anonymous said...

Joan,
Smart, politically correct, and lookin' pretty damn good for 39!

Anonymous said...

hey you weren't screaming when you were talking with Bill Maher either. Just perfect both times! Did you maybe just blink for a split-second when David asked you, "do you blog?"

Unknown said...

Anita, I totally blinked, b/c I don't blog on Salon, but...well, we all know what I do here! That's what I was thinking about but I didn't want to come clean...

Just now home from some meetings -- I'm the first, swearing anonymous...I said oh shit because I thought I was anonymous in the post before -- like joan wouldn't know it was me and then I saw my name posted so my next post was oh shit. It was funny...TO ME!!!

at the time...

Now, I have recorded it and must watch...Joan did you manage work all our names, the blog, and our alma mater into the discussion? I can't wait to see how you did it!

Anonymous said...

I caught that, Claudia. Then a real anonymous stepped in....
And Joan's blogging answer REALLY worked out for her!

Didn't see info about JW's latest appearance until after it was over. Had a snowy family movie night and watched (wasted time on) Failure to Launch.

I think NOW re-broadcasts tomorrow morning among all of the other, less brilliant, vibrant, and familiar talking head shows.

I think it can be downloaded and heard any time off the web site.

It has certainly been a historic week for this country. The president got publicly spanked by his citizens and then by his own father, I mean how humiliating is that (let's hope its also a little humbling), and then our Joan comes along with the best zinger of the week. I laughed out loud at her "Fun, Fun, Fun" reference.
But Joan are you really insecure about this TV thing, or are you just being coy with us?
Because if you really don't know, you come across great. I've seen you go from getting bullied by tag teaming republicans to yukking it up with rock stars and you always seem real, and manage to hold your own. And no matter what the situation, you always appear to be the most level headed person in the room.
I fully expect to see you on the panel during the next Presidential Debates.
Rock On!

Thanks Dan, a lot. No, I'm not being coy, on some level I guess I really don't know and I'm always hypercritical of myself, anyway. But I'm trying to learn to enjoy it.

Oh yeah, and props to the women of this blog, and women everywhere. Finally, a woman Speaker Of The House. Politics aside, this is long overdue, and might be a sign that the road is being paved for a female President in the very near future.
oh yeah, one more thing, this is for annoymous, and just because you are anonymous..

NANCY PELOSI FUCKIN ROCKS!

ooops, sorry, no more politics and no more swearing, i promise (cough)

Anonymous said...

Dan Berghaus Rocks!
I salute you!

Anonymous said...

Judas Priest, Joe Perry, Sinatra and BTO rocks too

Anonymous said...

Joan, are you a regular on PBS's Now? Will you be on again?

Anonymous said...

Anita did you see that deer that got its' head stuck in the big plastic orange pumpkin? It is wandering around Michigan?

Anonymous said...

I didn't see it, but I hear that the pumpkin fell off, and, yes it's somewhere not too far from here....

Anonymous said...

Anita was trying to sneak it in but... I will happily point out that she finally gave up her 5 things on the tag post.

Anonymous said...

Yes, Joan, what Deb said -- when can we see you again?

Anonymous said...

yeah...and your hair looked great, too!

Anonymous said...

I will not comment on the hair thing, as I might get in trouble. Oh what the hell, I'm sure it did look great, but could not see you! On the internet, we could only listen! You have a beautiful voice and you are so articulate, very happy and proud of you.

Most weeks I catch NOW. Seeing that it was about politics i knew that it was not one to miss. I recorded the episode on my DVR. What a pleausrable way to start my day. It was a treat watching you jw, while sipping on an earthy Ethiopian roast.
Joan, please do not hesitate to tell your fans here on this blog when you are going to be televised. I wish I could have seen you on Bill's show. Anyone have a copy?

Anonymous said...

Yes, Joan, but please tell us:

Can we catch NOW again...? -- if we missed it....

We'd enjoy seeing you! -- similar to the way your Bill Maher performance was a five-star, Little-Man Clapping Off His Seat (inside Bay Area joke for SF Chronicle readers of movie reviews)

Lastly, Joan: Did you know you're on a PodCast, as I listen to Bill Maher's show all the time on my iPod in the car. You made it onto one of his latest HBO shows that is on the iTunes Store and downloadable.....New nickname? PodCast Joan?.......Daniel

Unknown said...

Thanks, Daniel! It's been on in reruns all week but I don't know what time or if it will be again. I have it as Google video (our PR people did that) if you want me to send it to you!

And no, I did not know I'm a podcast! Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Yes, Joan -- as one of your Groupie Fans -- I'd appreciate you sending it:

edelstein@earthlink.net

BTW, did you see the "W" Countdown Calendar....? LOL funny stuff....

It was window art in my car as a bumper sticker for a spell.....Best wishes, Daniel

Done, Daniel!
