From Joan's kitchen...

Oh my God.

I'm not sure the first one is in my kitchen...the second one DEFINITELY is...how could I forget that yellow? I have a lot of other pictures of that night. I am pretty sure Larry Gellman cooked us all eggs...can anyone remember exactly when it was? I threw a party before we all went off to college, is it that?

And can anyone else identify the first kitchen? It could be mine, just with a less bright flash. We definitely had a party before or after senior prom at my house.

I'm sure everyone can tell that photo was photo-shopped or otherwise altered, however, since I never girl-handled Mitch Bouchonville so brazenly in real life.

Wow. This is a trip. So I think I'm going to run a contest for the best caption for what I'm saying to Joan in the picture where she's giving me that look...what was I saying to make her look at me that way?

I'll think of a prize later...in time for the reunion.

Anonymous, stop testing and talk!

Anita, the evidence of....what? Whose kitchen it is? My bad behavior?

Claud...I think Chuck might be groping me from behind, and that's why I have that long-suffering look. It's definitely not you!

Anonymous said...

Yes, that was my question, too, Anita -- evidence of what???

I can't figure out exactly what's sitting in front of Jack...maybe evidence of some kind.

And Joan, I was thinking I was probably telling you that Chuck just finished the last of the dope or something...

Unknown said...

Nail polish in front of Jack?

Chuck does look happy!

hmmmm Claudia, seems to me your either holding or hiding some of that evidence yourself.
Maybe thats the look of disapproval to you from Joan, oh my.
Anita and I were trying to figure it out ourselves while we were talking on the phone. We were aghast when we enlarged the Photo.
lolol

You know the more I look at this, Martine, the more I think Joan's actually looking just beyond me at someone or something else...what can it be?

And of course the real question is, why did I always wear my hair that way? My mom condemned that skirt about a year later, too. As I recall.

I dont know what it could be Claudia, but let me know when you figure it out, lol.
Are you kidding? Most of the girls would have loved to have your long flowing hair!

Egads, does anyone else see the glowing eyes in the yellow kitchen?
They are by the white curtains, yikes.
BOO!

In some fundamental way I've had pretty much the same haircut since about junior year in high school, and that scares me. I'm getting a weave for the reunion.

Also, looked at some family albums and that's definitely not our kitchen on the left, the window over the sink had the same draped, tied-back curtains (and there's no way to mute the color of those screaming yellow zonker cabinets.) Who knows where we were in that picture? I definitely have prom photos of a lot of people taken in my house, though. And lots of junior prom pictures!

Oh Joan I sure hope those will be part of the slide show. Its been such fun looking at these. All I can say about the 70's is WOW, lol.
And Joan your hair always looks great :)

Joan, wish I had seen that photo of the yellow kitchen before I did the remodel!
Who is the girl next to Andy, does anyone know?
Loved the pictures, thanks Maureen.

I wondered who she was, too, Laurel.

And you know the weirdest thing about these pictures for me? They really do seem in some ways to have happened just yesterday.

Man, things happen fast!

Happen fast is my motto these days! How is it that our babies are taking the SAT's and the ACT's, I can't believe so many of us have children the same age and here we go, may they have more common sense then me!
The funny thing is I still feel so young, how could my children be so old! I feel sorry for them.

Deb, Joan and all, just looked at my e-mail. I will now take a moment to reflect, I had no idea what a big day it is for us all, thanks for the reminder and congratulations to all!

I love those pictures. Could that girl be Sarah Richmond? She was a class or two behind us.

So funny Joan, you doing a photo archival search of your former kitchen, to try and figure it out!!!! I had a dress just like yours only it was peach polyester, not sage polyester?
Hills Bros coffee, nail polish and Miller Lite. Who needs anything else at a party?
Claudia that skirt is very cool, you could wear that today!!!! Yes, I see the glowing eyes and aura in the curtain??? Elvis perhaps?
I obviously was in a social vacuum, never even knew about your cool parties, much less invited????

Deb, it was clearly my great loss!

Nora has either strep or mono, or something else entirely, so we are having a miserable week, shuttling to the doctor for tests, me running into her room every hour or two when she calls. I feel like I have a little baby or toddler again -- and of course it's making me focus on how little time I have left to do this for her, and I'm paradoxically enjoying it, in a way, and very SAD...how did this happen, Laurel? Luckily she is not starting SAT prep class tomorrow, she chose the late July option...

I wish we all lived closer!

Well, well, well it sure is quiet tonight and no one
has been deleted yet, how boring!
Surely someone has something bad to say-hey what about you Peggy?
You can talk about me and how I have no life!
I'm OK with that, I have a good therapist and she will help me through it tomorrow.

To set the record straight - Laurel is just kidding about me being anonymous! We had an off blog laugh about that deleted comment yesterday.

Anonymous said...

Ooops, sorry Peggy. I didn't mean for you to look like the anonymous person, just a little joke!

Note to James Lee and the Ingenue:

As the photo witnesses, Kimmie J.II copied my hair style way before it was cool to live in the 70's again - the shadowy figure right of lovely Ms. Walsh was him (my "alternate" prom date)!

JW's arm/hand was positioned way to high to be considered a "brazen girl-handle". This now explains the wedgie I had when I got home around noon that next day! But please forgive...the smile on my face came about when I finally noticed your right "twin" pressed against my left!

Thank the Creator that Andy A. was quite in the bag to notice where my hand was!

Since my oldest will be blowing up the photo to the computer's limits in a vain search to discover her Father's seldom discussed past, she may provide the clues to whom the mystery girl/woman may be.

Could she be the hostess of the house...let's start with "Emily"!
First XX to guess correctly gets to "girl-handle" me! Yahoo!

Hi Chris, I have been off the blog and just found this, after saying hello to you in Holly's video thread!

Yes, we did go to prom, and I never wore that dress again (!) so that was definitely that night. But do you remember whose house that was? I think we had the pre-party at my house, and the after-party somewhere else, but I can't remember! Sadly...
