Outstanding!!

Just what the doctor ordered - a 3 minute dose of 31 years ago. Can you believe it's been that long?
Thank you Holly - you made my weekend.

Oh, and thank you Anita for putting it on the blog.

That was great! What a trip down memory lane.
Living in LA for so long forgot about all those long walks in the snow to school!
Thanks for the photos and I can't wait to see everyone at the reunion.
I'm trying to get some photos in too, but just got back from London and my brain is a little gone with the jet lag and all!

Anonymous said...

Laurel-- any close calls in the London traffic this time?

Anonymous said...

Very funny Anita! I was very very careful this time. They have big letters on the street now ( well, maybe I just didn't see them last time) telling you which way to look before crossing. I actually told my son this was done because of me!

The video was great! Took me right back to high school & winters in Wisconsin. All those freezing walks to school & frozen hair after swimming! Ever wonder WHY they had swimming in the winter???

Anonymous said...

Good question Marta!

Incredible footage of my grad year 1975.
ThanX so much for the talent & memories shared.
It's very hard to remember frozen hair circa 1978 as I haven't done a winter since then & the temps here are in the high 80's......
Thinking back, frozen hair was a strange phenomenon but then so was being a teenager in the 70's
;-O

oh, you Florida girls! We swim all year round indoors up NORTH here. Then we use hair-dryers and BUNDLE UP. There's no such thing as bad weather-- just bad clothing.

I know, I know-- my brother, Eddie, also expatriated down south to Florida, and his 3 kids have grown up thinking that you need to wear mittens in 50-degree weather....

Anonymous said...

What I wouldn't give 4 a 50 degree day & no mittens allowed.
Do U put on those gigantic Russian (fake) fur hats to prevent Ur hair from freezing in case U missed a spot under the blow dryer?
I have 2 hats (fake fur black Russian ones) like that but no chance of wearing them in FLA - made 4 very cute Christmas pix of me & my Czech girlfriend....
;-D
Hey! Anita! don't U have some scanning to do??
;-O

Anonymous said...

impatient, are we?
I had some important calls to take....

Anonymous said...

Oh that's nice Anita!
Some horrible creature came & shaved off my eyebrows in the middle of the night & I had to draw them on for the '74 sophmore pic at SHS (& I did a lousy job!)
Oh well!
Reality bites but it sure is F.U.N.N.Y.
Funny Ha! Ha! as the joke is on ME
now ;-O

Anonymous said...

why nit-pick about your Copperdome pic? it's only going to be on your name-card....

Anonymous said...

GR8!
I'll have to wear reading glasses just to C everyone's '76 (my '75) faces on a name card!
What's that all about?
I say we put 'em in2 a slide projector & flash 'em up on the wall as B4 & Afters along with any other candid shots available during the Big Bang......

Isn't Susan Lubar in Mequon or Germantown or somewhere out there?

I talk to Dan Rybold every once and a while ... last I heard he's in SF living with Joan Walsh, I mean near Joan Walsh, sorry.

I talk to Bryan Wulz and actually see him every year or so ... he's in Atlanta.

However, Dan R went to Marquette High, not SHS and Bryan disliked us so much he graduated early in '75. So I think we'll need a student council vote to approve their potential attendance.

On the other hand I'm all in favor of inviting Jeanette Fick and Suzi Fantuzzi.

I think that Randy Moss plays for the Oakland Raiders as a wide receiver, after being run out of Minneapolis????

Just found this by accident & am quite amazed.
ThanX Dave M.
I was asking ANita about Jeanette -who could 4get her, she is so sweet & beautiful inside & out.
Is she coming to the ReU?
;-D

Thanks Anita for letting me know and
good work by Holly as usual.
Holly, I guess kidnapping might be a little more fun these days, but a lot of things are. I didn't think too much back then, but I enjoyed all the time at SHS.

Well, hey Chris! You are now added to the list of bloggers!
Now, what's this about kidnapping?
Do we have to wait until Holly returns from vacation to hear about this?

Anonymous said...

Holly, what a wonderful short film! An Academy Winner indeed :)
And thank you Anita for letting us all in on this little treasure.
Happy 4th to everyone! What a wonderful way to spend the day with the Grandkids. Parade, the park, picnic and games! Thank goodness they are to tired for fireworks cause we are wiped out, whew. lol

FYI Randy Moss is now playing for the NE Patriots. Finally got a on a winning team.

Anonymous said...

...who is Randy Moss?

Anonymous said...

Yes, who is Randy Moss and did he go to SHS?
Martine - that sounds like fun. Would you consider adopting me?
Cris - we need to hear the rest of the kidnapping story.

Anonymous said...

oops - I forgot your H Chris.

What does he have to do with SHS?
I don't get it....

I got out of Shorewood in 1975 with Bryan. If I would be on the "B" list as a non-desirable can I get my money back?

Anonymous said...

Randy Moss went to Atwater, and Intermediate school. Tall, redish hair. Never went on to SHS???
Randy Moss is also the name of a pro football wide receiver, who has had somewhat of a troubled career off the field. No longer now that he is in the Bill Belichik football system.

Good News: The Student Council convened a special meeting where two resolutions were passed:

1. '75 grads (e.g., Bryan and Eddie) are AOK to come!

2. Anyone who misbehaves at TJ's or the Hilton will be sent to Kopp's Custard to get everyone a cone........and then made to clean up all the alewives on Debbie Herz's old beach so we can all go there late at night for a bonfire.

Anonymous said...

Eddie and Brian are eligible of course. I know we would all agree
on that. I used to eat lunch with Randy, we ate a lot of cheese sandwiches. Bonfires rule !
Kidnapping (I believe) started as a way to get bored teenagers together in an unsupervised social situation. Esp. girls with cars ringing doorbells of boys and informing them they were being "kidnapped."
Holly and Deedee came over once or
twice, I am not sure where we ended
up going, it was kind of a very
casual date/field trip. Holly may
remember more about that. I hope
she does, I was not the most courageous kidnappee,(sp) but I approved of the idea. I was afraid
of being called chicken even tho
it seemed crazy at the time. Not as scary as some other stuff I did. Holly and Deedee were always very positive, fun loving and classy. Once I start, I can't stop. Chris T

Chris, thanks for the kidnapping update!
Now, if you could be so kind as to click on "other" and type in your name when you post, this would alleviate getting one anonymous confused with all the others?

Anonymous said...

Chris T.,
Were U at Lake Bluff in Mrs. Brown's 4th grade class?
;-)

Anonymous said...

That "kidnapping" definition from Chris is an eye opener.

Now I know what I've doing wrong all these years. Guess I'm still single for a good reason, as when I go pick up my first date, I knock on her door.

Then, just like yesteryear and Chris' method, I tell her that "I'm here to kidnap you."

Next I feel the door shut in my face.

Of course, the above scenario is in jest and a joke..........but, to tell the truth, I NEVER heard kidnapping in high school.

Did other folks do this game/routine?

Anonymous said...

I hope I am not sending this multiple times. Sorry Anita, I am still catching on to this. Suzi, yes I was in Mrs Brown's class. Kidnapping led to Polka dancing is what I recall.
Holly is the final source on that.

A very special hello to Holly.
Great job on the video,
glad you hung on to all that
beautiful footage all these years, it's nice to look back.
To Anita, Kathy and everyone else involved in this soon to be, most excellent reunion. Due to the efforts of a great committee, this could be the best reunion to date.
wouldn't it be a shame if you were on the fence about coming and just let too much time go by...and now it seems to be too late. Well, good news, it's never to late. Book that fight, rent that car ,or just make the plan to attend.
Let's show our classmates that their efforts were not in vein.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.
This is the real Dan Bennett signing off.

Chris T.,
Wanted to test my memory B4 sharing this 1 with U.
My first day at Lake Bluff, Mrs. Brown (4th grade) asked the class who would like to show me around the school.
Several girls' hands went up & immediately so did yours. Everyone laughed (except me of course) including Mrs. Brown who thanked U then added, "I think we'll choose a girl to show Susie around so she may show her where all of the girl's rooms are. The next new boy student addition to our class will be introduced to our school by Chris Twining."
You appeared mildly disappointed by the news, Chris, but I liked you right away for it.....
;-D

Peggy,
I already adopted you when you said you would hold my hand at the Microphone. Now you have to figure out who is going to carry me up there, lol. xox

Dan said...

Anita, Kathy and reunion committee....Thank you.
That's what I was trying to say last night.

Hi Dan,
That's what you did say last night :) How wonderful that you are attending the Reunion. Looking forward to seeing you!

Suzi, that is so funny and I don't
remember that at all. I don't remember much about Mrs. Brown's class except I really liked
Lake Bluff a lot. I am glad you had a good story about when you first got there. Maybe you remember Bret, he was my neighbor across the street
on Olive. Thanks, Suzi. I am
enjoying checking this. Looking
forward to seeing you. Chris T

Buon giorno, Chris & everyone,
I do recall Brett & have many wonderful memories of Lake Bluff Elementary.
Just found a few more luau pics that feature Bobby Ladwig & more holding up handmade puppets!
I am bringing these with me as they are all too crazy & must be shared.
One of Sharon D. & Lisa H. on my top bunkbed looking freaky with 'W.U.L.Z.' on my wall behind them (I had a crush)....
School was truly my favorite place to be.
Yes, Dan, if it wasn't 4 Anita, Kathy, Claud, et al, I wouldn't have made it 2 the ReU so BIG THANX! 4 these wonder women.
