Slacker Intermission

Ain't it quiet, though?

At least this way we won't run out of conversation at Aliota's.

Save it up, folks.

It's only...om...9 weeks away?
Is that right?

Nice photo! We went to brunch the morning after the long, long night of our 20th, and I think that photo might be of me...with my hair pulled back or something.

Any other guesses?

it's closer than I realized!!

Great picture - thank God it's not me!! Who is it?

Anita - Firefox worked! I am back on.
Thank your hubby for me.

Claudia, is that just another "google image" that you found floating around on the web?
Maybe SHS'ers should submit photos to you of people we might know....

Anonymous said...

Yes, yes. Sorry -- it's just some anonymous guy..although I'm not so sure if we DO have a picture of one of us looking like this, that we'd want to post it!

Anonymous said...

I'm sure there are many pictures we would not like to see!
Well, actually I would if they don't include me!

Anonymous said...

Then I guess I shouldn't post those Florida pics...huh Laurel??

Anonymous said...

Only the ones of you on the floor of the plane drinking a bottle of ?????
I still have those somewhere Peggy. Maybe a blow up for the reunion, what do you think?

Anonymous said...

Laurel,
I have a pic of you, Patty and Moi at the airport lounge before our flight - priceless. We got so stewed and they had to hold the plane for us. Mrs, Gardner was really mad. Gee, I wonder why?

Anonymous said...

Thank god for all those memories Patty, I plead the 5th, I don't remember anything!

Anonymous said...

okay, Peggy, I still have Pat on my mind! Send her my best!

Hey all. On another subject, I spent the night at my parent's house last week in Shorewood (house sitting) and couldn't resist ordering a large cheese/sausage/pep pizza from Lisa's. Mind you it has been 20+ years since I ate one. WOW. Quite tasty. I really need to get out more...

Anonymous said...

Hmmmmmm.....Is that an opening line, Andy? Any ladies interested in adding a "date" to Andy's pizza's ingredients?

Anonymous said...

Geez, Andy,
For a couple of SHSers-- both you AND your wife-- is it really that tough to get over to the eastside ALL the way from, where is it-- Waukesha??

Anonymous said...

Well when you know what you are spelling about - I guess it doesn't matter!!! Take Care Andy!
Only fools rush in!

Thanks all !!

I finally fix my computer so I gan get on the blog and no ones talking!
Reunion update:
We are getting several calls from mates we were unable to locate during the first round of mailings, thanks to the efforts of many (especially Story, Anita, Deb). We have heard from Kris Johnson, Todd Bernard, Sue Luedtke (sp?) Dave Coddington, and many more... Seem like the turnout will be greater that expected!

okay, so i've been reading these great conversations for some time now and finally decided enough's enough, i just can't keep pretending i'm a spy, though pretending(since i still teach young children who really really like me to be the bad guy) is one of my specialties. so hello to all you wonderful old freinds, seems like just yesterday some of us were skipping school to hang at the vacant lot on a glorious spring afternnoon. being a teacher i still get to skip sometimes, so that hasn't changed, but seems like there aren't too many vacant lots left in the
world. what does amaze me is how intimate, how close everyone still sounds. it's really pretty cool. how magic a group of friends we all were. thanks for still being out there and making this happen. it truly makes my heart smile to hear your words and know your all alive and presumably well. love, love, love perry

Anonymous said...

aww, Perry!
Talk about making someone's heart smile!!
Glad to see you participating in the comments-- although flying under the radar is okay, too.

Anonymous said...

Perry, you had the best basement. Good times. I remember when you read "The Hare who lost his Spectacles" from JT A Passion Play in class.

Good to hear from you.

Perry! So great to hear from you. I have such great memories of the 20th with you. If we're lucky, Thalia's lost the photos of some of us trying on the cheerleading outfit she bought. If we're lucky. I hope we see you in July!

Anonymous said...

OK I Know it's June now & the Blue Moon has passed. So let's get some thoughts going. What's going on?

Anonymous said...

Speaking of Blue Moon...it's an excellent beer! Had some last night for the first time.

Anonymous said...

Guess what? I finally posted a message on the blog and I think it went under older posts.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion! If it's not too late, I may have some slides of Gary Morrison, along with a picture of Laurel and me prior to walking the stage on graduation night.
Thank you Claudia for creating the blog! Thank you Kathy, Anita, Peggy etc. for all your hardwork to make happen.
See you all soon!

I recently found this Blog - quite by accident - & am amazed at the cohesiveness among you.
While I didn't graduate from SHS (Madison Senior in '75 as Junior at age 16 to get out of a bad home life & on to Houston, TX then LA LA Land blah blah blah..., I did attend Lake Bluff beginning with grade 4 (Mrs. Brown) & onto the (new at the time) SIS then to SHS until my move in my freshman year circa '73.
I emailed Laurel Blackmore-Kuppin (a former best friend for a looong time) & received 1 lovely email in return - Grazie Laurel.
I'll stop here in case this makes it to your Blog (I've never blogged in my life & have NO IDEA if this will show up - or, for that matter, if anyone will care
;-)

Anonymous said...

Hey, Susie-- you're on-- it worked--

Are you planning on coming to the reunion?? This is not a "graduates-only" affair by any means. Where do you live?

Anonymous said...

Suzie Fantuzzi...Wow, talk about a name from the past. I remember my dear friend Tony Mussomelli (of blessed memory) having a boyhood crush on you. And how could he not? You were so cute, italian and had a name right out of a romance novel. I am glad you have reconnected with Laurel and escaped from a difficult home life to hopefully a great adulthood. We certainly owe Claudia a debt of gratitude for setting this blog up and spurring others to organize a reunion. Come join us.

By the way, speaking of classmates. On Monday in the Milw. Journal, there was a big article on Jim Meissner. It can be found on the following site:
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=614431.

Cooincidently, there was a second article that very day on the child of Gary Nolan, another SHS grad from two years prior to our class. It is a very touching story on their adoption of an
abused child. It can be found at:

Susie Fantuzzi must come to the reunion!!!

And Jim, thanks for the link to the article about Jim -- I meant to get it up on the blog today but I've been busy fighting our idiotic school board for the past week...grrr...and I'm just now getting back to the computer today.

Anyway, thanks Jim. And Susie -- PLEASE COME!!

Anonymous said...

Jim,
Thanks for that info - both very interesting.

Hi Susie,
I hope you can make it to the reunion. Should be quite a weekend...

And Beth...it's only been 5 months - glad you figured out how to post!!

Anonymous said...

Cool article about Jimmy Meisser! Kathy had emailed that to me. He has responded that he will be at our reunion! Now we have to get him on the blog...

alright, Claudia, now that you've piqued our interest--
about what, exactly, are you fighting your school board??

Peggy, so nice to see you blogging again after your technical hiatus-- I need to call you back still....

Oh my God (sorry for any offense to anyone but OH MY GOD! ;-)
This is freaking me OUT!
I may have to rollerblade to this reU - yeah, right!!!
The only thing that would freak me out more is if Claudia Nowicki would cell me RiGHT NOW! & I'd hear her live in person making this all quite real - or a really amazing flashback sequence to 1970 something.
I sent her an email with my number & she responded with an email 2day.
She sent me a photo in response to mine - why is it so damn hard to get a photo from you guys?
Laurel, cough it up!
Who gives a rats ass how anyone looks - it's for the personal connection aspect of communicating with a real person 'stead of just some words on a page.
If I can figure out how to get some pix on this Blog, you can bet I will post them good, scary, or horrifying.
Life is short & I wanna feel it real as possible, GR8 or awful but just feel it REAL.
Damn I wish I was a techie.
My roommie will be home later & I'll do my best to upload pix if he knows how.
Never thought I'd say this but I am so sorry I am going to europe
(for 2 months August & September) making it a bit difficult to get to the reU.
I'll work on it tho'.
I found many pix of my '70's life in Shorewood last nite.
You are all 14 & 15 to me & I'm sticking to that image until forced to see otherwise.
Tooo freakin' funny, this.
I'd LOVE 2 C U ALL.
Can U tell by the length of this "comment"
;-O

O.K. it's WAR!
Anyone who makes me cry in the morning gets it - a BiG GiANT HUG from ME!
That article in the Mil. Journal about the Nolans & their gifted son, HoJo (Howard), had me loudly sobbing in joy for all of them.
Can't wait to throw my arms around the Nolans - clearly my kind of people.
I've gotta polish my 'blades & get rolling up there.
I'll do my best.
;-D

Wake up everyone!
Al Roker (Today Show) is broadcasting from, you guessed it, Milwaukee with his camera man from brew town, Mike Meinhardt (sp?)
The subject is your 17 tornadoes (I
don't recall them while I was living in Wisconsin) 'sides global warming, what are you guys doing to cre8 such atmospheric chaos?
Hmmmm.
Have a GR8 weekend all.
I'm working on a plan to C U.
;-D

I'm back!
Thanks Martine, I can't wait to see you again as well!
I'll get in touch with Anita, or Story regarding the slides & pictures.
Thanks for your message Peggy, I'm happy I figured out how to post on the blog!
Take care,
Beth

I lived in Shorewood when I was young - in the 1960's. I am trying to locate Randy Blackmore (class of 75) or his sister Laurel (76).
If anyone is in touch with either of them, please give them my email aml0854@gmail.com

Thanks,
Andy Lister
