Add a unique and perhaps first in your lifetime activity to this reunion. Play some golf, or have some fun trying. Lake Park is a beginner's par three course of 18 holes. An hour and a half of chasing the little white ball. More about having fun and socializing than trying to shoot par. Costs around $6 to play. Pay at the course. It was 35 cents and a long bike ride back in the day. It requires one club and a putter. Non-golfers should be able to have a good time, without dealing with the usual demanding elements of trees, sand, and water. Also with close proximity of holes, can watch those outside your own group play, allowing opportunity for razzing and other atypical golf antics. Should be a good opportunity for video footage. I have clubs and balls for anyone without. It would help if I had advance notice of who is going to play (and who needs equipment), so when i go early, I can reserve enough tee times. We are planning for a start at appx. 10:30, finishing around noon, then able to mosey directly to the reunion picnic at park site #2. If you can't commit ahead of time, you can always show up and hopefully get squeezed in. If you want to play, send an email to me at moregolf00(zerozero)@aol.com The more the merrier. Clark Korneisel
...strange, how the font on the blog has the zeros and the small o's look the same...
I went back to correct that, but they still look the same-- I wonder if it works to copy & paste
Clark has been my top golf teacher
over the years. Clark and the LPGA.
I never played 18 holes. I played
Lake Park maybe three times. We
had fun with Steve Vasos and Mike
Farrell, right Clark. I hit 2 or 3
buckets of balls at a driving range in my life.
Finally have a set of clubs that I could get by with, as long as I had
enough tees and didn't lose all the
golf balls in the water. I will be there after Roots and Wings run that company has every year.
Busy weekend coming up after this one. East and West coasters will run us ragged with all your energy.
Bring it on, we can use it. I hope
it's not 90 degrees. Thanks for doing this Clark.
Also, I live 2 blocks north of Brady Street on Oakland. Absolutely anybody can swing by anytime to hang out or get a cup of coffee or cocoa.
We have a back porch and 1 cat.
Don't even bother calling, but it's 278-8755. CAT
Joan Walsh on MSNBC Tonight, 7 pm EST....and funny, eloquent article today on the latest shrub lies and smoke screens:

Chris:
Thanks for the generous invitation! BUT, as you stated to "not even bother calling," I tried doing so, but did not have your address (!) :-).......There's lots of abodes two blocks north of Brady!
anon: maybe you WILL need to call first....
Saw you on TV, Joan!
All I can say is Hillary & Joan (as VP!)
Imagine that - Shorewood High School's Claim to fame - William Rehnquist and Joan Walsh
Sorry, and in all respect to "anon," I think we're still at one for "claim to fame": Joan
Given S. Rehnquist's opinions and rulings that do not help women and minorities, I'd opine that he makes the Hall of Shame......That's just my two cents and it's OK for people to disagree with me........
Actually I do agree with you. However I have one question. Why the hell are we being Anonymous? :0)
I think we're being anons because SOME folks may be turned off by political discussion that is different from their views.
In any event, if you wish to learn about Rehnquist's conservative views and actions, including how they hurt minorities and other people, go to www.wikipedia.com
Type in his name to see his entry and the facts.
I already know those facts. Was just trying to lighten the mood, wow.
Why ARE you being anonymous! I want to know who's nominating me for VP?
Sorry, it's 1838 N Oakland Ave
a 4 story red brick building.
built around 1900 used to be a
telephone switching station.
We are on the first floor,
Apartment 5, and I have 2 bicycles
available. Schwinn one speeds
with fat tires and fenders.
East side of the street going north, I may be in front because the sun is in back. When it's hot (and the forecast is 90 degrees for Fri), I sit in front and "rest."
I am also off work on Friday
because I very rarely can keep
my eyes open past midnight.
However, with knockouts and hombres
all around me, I will hang in there
as long as I can. So come on down and shock me. 1838 Oakland #5
I will show you around "my Milwaukee" or we can just hang out 278-8755 chris
Ah Chris enjoying the life on the FES (Fashionable East Side) we are practically neighbors and I never knew that
hey you guys could start an SHS coffee club there on the FES-- with Beth Gernetzke, Jodie Curro right around the corner... who else is there?
Does FES include Shorewood? Or is an FES'er only allowed to live in Milwaukee?
FES means the east side of Milwaukee only. Anything north of Edgewood Blvd. is beyond the border. We need to set strict limits - next thing you know those living in Whitefish Bay will claim to be FESer's.
To Anon: You mean anywhere else besides the East Side is "not" fashionable (?)....:-)
Just kidding........but you know the best #1 East Side street in the summer is Downer Ave. on a summer's eve when you can stroll down it and eat outside, etc.
No need to be Anon about all the great enjoyment and fun to had by all on the FES. I reckon the list is large and I hath no problemo to counteth some ways:
1. I second the motion on Downer Ave. It's a sweet little street.
It almost feels like a small town you're in as you pass Sendik's and mere two blocks later window shop at Schwartz Bookstore;
2. Wahl Ave. has an almost regal feel as you enjoy the lake views amidst the proud, venerable homes on the bluff.
3. If you haven't discovered the paved bike path along the lake, then you're in for a treat. It goes all the way from the Art Center north to Silver Spring (along a former railroad throughfare).
DE
For all those who haven't been on the FES for a while, DE forgot to mention - Alterra Coffee on Prospect or at the Lake, Beans & Barley; Villa Terrace and its Italian Renaissance Gardens, the Oriental and Downer Movie Theaters,
Whole Foods, a Suburbia Sandwich shop (opening soon), Ma Fishers, the Candy Wagon on Downer (enjoy it while you can before it is removed to make way for a parking structure, office space and condos) golf in Lake Park and too many bars on North Ave to mention (sorry but O'Reilly's closed years ago and Jack has passed on)
You mean TJ's Friday night doesn't qualify as fashionable?
The Hilton on Saturday?
Boo-hoo R Us....Wear your least cool duds and be unfashionable as we're relegated to the dregs of the unfashionable parts of town.
Talk about White Flight from the FES; guess that's us :-) -- or maybe we just got a good rate $$ at the 5-star Hilton?...........BTW, bravo for the nice FES list that added to DE's.
What about that Lisas Pizza?
Where is that? On the FES?
Yes....and is George Webb's still on the corner nearby Lisa's? Or did the Brewskis lose too many games?
Zaffiros over Lisas. Always Webbs
Joan Walsh on Dan Abrams tonight - Tucker is never right and he should not have the last word. Sen. Vitter where is Tammy Waynette when you need her?
Thank you Eddie for changing the subject and for not being anonymous.
I am going now to watch the FJW (fashionable Joan Walsh). And by the way, I second the VP nomination.
Thank you, Eddie and Peggy -- Tucker really blew my mind. I have the DVD but I'm afraid to watch, I thought my head would explode.
I am so excited, I can't stand it. Nora and I leave tomorrow for Madison -- yes, I'm forcing her to look at it, Badgers are the best people -- and then we're in Milwaukee Thursday, I put her on a plane Friday morning and...who knows?
Dagnabit I missed Joan :(
Good one on the FJW Peggy, I so agree :)Votes were in on Joan long ago, she Rocks! I am so looking forward to seeing you all at our Big Bang, Peace! M~
