OH my Gosh, Paul Radjkes Sixth grade class. He sure was a charactor. I finally recognise EVEYRONE in the pic. Except the boy third from the left next to Paul Fromm in the back row?

Anonymous said...

Rick Cudahy, maybe?

Anonymous said...

Yes, Anita, you could be right Rick?
(We can talk here since I cant get emails from you.)
Thanks for updating the blog information. I wonder if it should go at the top, be more visible? What everyone else thinks is fine with me.
Anita, where you in my 6th grade class with Mr. Baumiester? I can see the picture in my head clear as day, but cannot find it in my archive stuff.

Sure that's Rick. And I was going through the faces, too, trying to name everyone...I get to that guy in the middle in the back row, and I'm thinking, "God, he looks pretty old!"

Duh.

You guys were SO adorable. Paul Fromm! How cute can you get? And is that Tom Ilendfeldt on the end? Dave Phinney on the other end? Cute cute CUTE!!

Anonymous said...

Yes, Keen Eyes by all: that's Rick Cudahy, former Maryland-nite with me long ago.....and now current phone buddy......He's still fun, smart, and has a great, rye sense of humor.......Is that Jack Edelstein in front on the extreme left? Wow!

Anonymous said...

Claudia, you are too much....dah
I think that is Dan Rybold next to Paul Fromm, (future pres of Drama Club). That is Jack E at the bottom. Stripes were in with fashions that is for sure.

I hear that the guy in the upper right-hand corner was a foreign exchange student from Russsia or somewhere, and that the teacher slapped him??

Anonymous said...

Deb, if you recognize everyone,
then who is the guy in the back row between Martine and Robin?

Anonymous said...

Anita, I think that foreign exchange student is David Phinney, isn't it?

Anonymous said...

Do you mean between Martine and Becky? Anita, are you drinking?

Anonymous said...

Funny, Claudia... didn't we just discuss something about this tall student in the middle....
You know you're typing way faster than I could ever...
Anyway, that's not Dave Phinney, at least not according to Martine. Where is that Martine, anyway? She must have gone to sleep already-- I think she had a long day.

Was it Randy something? next to Martine?

Anonymous said...

That's David Phinney or I'll eat my hat.
Russian slapping spies indeed!

And I don't know who in the heck that kid next to Martine is, although he does look familiar...I thought Deb knew everyone. Where IS Deb...probably watching TV and filing her nails as usual...probably why she never gets any work done...

Anonymous said...

I'm sending her some bon-bons to eat while she's doing that

Anonymous said...

you'll of course be busy eating your hat

Anonymous said...

Yeah, and some of those little toe-separaters for when you polish your toenails. She'll be needing those, too.

And some polish, of course.

Anonymous said...

Good girl!

You're right about the filling out the form, though. I HATE people who wait until the last minute. Like me.

Anonymous said...

And I hope you're planning to take my side in this Dave Phinney controversy, Joan.

Tell Anita that, once again, I'm right. Okay?

Anonymous said...

We'll have to wait until Martine and Deb wake up...
wait-- someone call Dave Phinney and ask him where he was in sixth grade

Anonymous said...

Oh sure, everyone goes to bed when I finally get computer time!
Anita, thanks for updating the reunion info and posting the help info. And by the way, if Claudia wasn't always right she would be wrong in her id of the kid in the photo. But like Joan, I wasn't there so what in the hell do I know.

I was at Lake Bluff, but the boy between Martine and Robin is Randy Moss. He was in my confirmation class at Luther Memorial.

Anonymous said...

Oh MY GOD, what exciting Friday nights you all must have had.
THAT IS DAve Phinney at the end of the back row, it is Randy Moss, (no not the NFL player, the original one from Atwater School

Anonymous said...

Just wait til July when you guys get to find out how right I am about everything else, too. I'm tellin ya, I freak myself out sometimes.

Anonymous said...

Claudia, you and Deb are soooo right! That is Dave Phinney. I am freaked at how familiar everyone is in all the grade school pictures. Thanks for posting them.

Anonymous said...

Ok my bad! I told Anita I didnt think that was Dave Phinney. My word such an uproar! Wish I had thought of it sooner, lol.
Claudia, bring your hat with you and I'll eat it at the Reunion, lol.
P.S. However that Russian Spy sure looked alot like Dave! :)

Jodie, Martine and I were commenting that you always looked so cute and vogue even back in the sixth grade. You are adorable. And Martine in that Blue Velvet dress!!
We sure had to dress back then didn't we. No girls wear dresses or skirts to school anymore do they? Love those fish net stockings.

And oh how I loved Story's Pixie haircut and she always had the cutest outfits :)

Anonymous said...

Yes, nice outfit, Story!
OK, now Story & I were talking and remembering that the foreign student was called "Frenchy." We just can't remember his real name (he's not in the picture.) But Mr. Rajski did have it out for him, and threatened to take a scissors and cut his hair??

Anonymous said...

Thats it Anita & Story!!! Frenchy the Russian Spy, lol.

Sad however that it was not pleasant at all between them. I felt bad for the guy.

Anonymous said...

Ok, where the hell is Laurel? I know she had to move back in but she really needs to get her priorities together :)

Anonymous said...

this atwater 6th grade pic is so cute. i remember everyone including the outfits. how crazy is that?
We didn't have a russian spy in our class. we did have a student from canada transfer in to our class. he wasn't there for the entire year. his nickname was frenchy. i think his name was robert. this is actually a sad story. now let me see if i can get this right. his parents died and his much older sister was taking care of him. rajski was trying to date his sister. frenchy was so afraid of him. rajski would yell at him about his hair, threatening to cut it. he took him out in the hall to yell at him and frenchy came in crying. i think he even slapped him once. another reason why i couldn't stand this guy!

Anonymous said...

Oh Story, that is so sad. Now I feel just awful. I didnt realize it was that bad. That story brought tears to my eyes. :(

I hope Robert is happy today wherever he may be.

Oh it's all too cute.......Nonny here has just recovered from a fit of grinning for too long while gazing at the precious photos.

Thanks Beth!

Ok Beth! thank you soooo much for the contribution to our infamous past. Apparently there are some who cannot let go of themselves enough to see beyond their own past- what a pity, to only remember
or to recall those precious who have passed.
Here's a unique idea, let us celebrate our future " in lieu "of our shared , present & past!love to all G

I dont' remember Frenchy at all? But we all knew Mr. R I saw him at a Party I attended with my parents while I was in the 6th grade. (He was friends with the host). That next Monday, while we all were gathered at the door after recess, he asked yelled to the back and asked if I were "hungover"? Very strange.......

OK, I'm in. The Atwater picture got to me. I wasn't in that class, I was in Mrs. Morris' class. Looks like I was separated from most of my friends. I'll try to find it to post! It's good hearing everyone's reaction to the pix & booked my flight today.....

YAY YAY YAY!!

Hi Marta!!!

Anonymous said...

Marta, how wonderful to know you will be at the reunion. I hope others will have your reaction as well. Great to see you on here :)

Anonymous said...

Hi Marta
Welcome Marta.......yeah, find that picture. Still in search of Mr. Baumiesters 6th grade Atwater pic.
OK, since you were in Mrs. Morris' class, do you remember when she did the splits in front of the classroom. No one else seems to remember? I know I am not imagining it????

Anonymous said...

Hi, Marta!!
Are you in Florida?
Hey, I was in Mrs. Morris' class also, but I can't find the picture! That would be great if you found it. Email me: anita@wireman131.com

This picture is priceless ...

I didn't know I had such big ears back then. There are two things I remember
from the 6th grade class:

- Mr. Raschke (sp?) used to call me Pedro, since I was born in Brazil.

- Elizabeth? (the one in the 2nd row in front of Martine, and behind Dan Lanke)
gave a book report in front of the class. Staring at a sheet she had, she began to stumble on her book report. Finally the teacher asked her something, and it was revealed that the sheet was actually blank! That is is what I recall - sorry if I have made a mistake here.

- Peter

Hi Peter
I didn't know you were born in Brazil? Where in Brazil?
I remember the whole class, (not sure what grade), going on a field trip, to UWM, to see your Dad! He gave this VERY COOL lecture and showed us a lazer!!! He slapped two chaulk board erasors together, to expose the beam. It was so high tech, none of us had ever seen a lazor beam before, our jaws dropped in astonishment!!!

Anonymous said...

Hello, Peter!
Good to see you here!
That is a great picture-- and we can compare that to the more recent picture from your website that I've posted on our reunion blog.

Anonymous said...

Hi Peter,
Nice to see you on the Blog. I think I see bigger ears in that Pic than yours, lol.
And now that you tell the story on the book report it sure sounds familiar.
And Deb, that Lazer story seemed to hit home as well.

Anonymous said...

Hi Deb,

Thanks so much for story about my dad giving a physics lecture with the laser and chalk eraser. I do remember that now that you mention it, but don't recall which grade we went (probably 6th).

Thanks Martine for confirming my recollection.

BTW, I don't know about other people's memories, but I seem to retain about 10% of my life experiences. :-(

Brazil: from a small town near Rio and Sao Paulo - I guess I didn't tell too many people, but Mr. R. knew.

I hated this class- teacher was dating the mom of the little sh_t in the back row (L) (from france?) and i had to sit in the back of the room with him and he was awful. i also remember having to get up in front of the class in my girl scout uniform and "talk" about what i liked about being a scout- the teacher was making fun of me and i knew it and couldn't do anything about it- very tramatic!!
