Was it worth it??? Ha!!

Anonymous said...

Works for me...
How bout you, Peggy??

Anonymous said...

Anita, great blog post- check!!
Is that supposed to be a greyhound up at the top left of the check?
Ha

Anonymous said...

That's Claud's artwork on the check! Love that hound!!

I think my sister (Elaine Paque) is going to come, since the '77 bunch didn't get their act together.

Anonymous said...

Slacker Jr.'s!!

Hey, I think Joan's brother might be thinking about coming, too. What a party this is going to be!!!!

Anyone thought about what they're wearing?

Anonymous said...

What to wear...my sister took me shopping for decent clothes when I visited her in Feb. If I wear anything other than t-shirt and jeans to work someone is bound to ask me where I'm interviewing.

Anonymous said...

Hey I have a sister who takes me shopping for decent clothes too! I inherit a LOT.

Thank God for sisters!

Anonymous said...

Hey, I thought that we were supposed to wear retro clothes-
Circa: 1969-1976? What happened to that idea? I am sure that I still have some of that era in my closet?
No one said anything about shopping for new fashions? Laurel maybe?

Anonymous said...

oops! I forgot about that, Deb.

Hmmm. What in the world will I wear now?

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, and here is an idea for the guys: Red Satin Basketball "short" Shorts, with belts, and Chuck Taylors

Anonymous said...

Oh boy Deb, and we can wear our old red and white gymsuits.

That'd be cute.

Anonymous said...

UGH, now that would be a sight: us ladies in those lovely outfits............Oh my Gosh, how ugly, and impractical were those threads, even for gym........
We had to be threatened to take them home and wash them once a month. eeeccckkk.
Anita still had the dink, wanna bet she may still has one of the W & Red jailhouse gym jumpsuits? I'm waiting anxiously now for a photo of one on the blog.....

Anonymous said...

Slacker Juniors! hahahahaha
to funny Claudia!

Anonymous said...

Ha! I tried on my gymsuit a few years ago and it actually fit-- but my fashion consultant daughters made me get rid of it....

Anonymous said...

So you STILL did have it....I knew it. What else do you have stowed away in some plastic bin?

Anonymous said...

If you saved THAT, Anita, just how big is your house??

Signed,
A Little Aghast In God's Country

Anonymous said...

aah-- time to get rid of some stuff??

Anonymous said...

I hear that the Smithsonian is looking for a new Curator for its' Americana Collections. Sounds like you'd be a top prospect Anita.
My Lord, I thought I was a "collector". That outfit goes far beyond "memorabilia".

Anonymous said...

Yes, Anita. We are, in a word, concerned. ;)

Anonymous said...

can you recommend a therapist?

Anonymous said...

Anita, I can! (calling to warn therapist)

Anonymous said...

Speaking of therapist, I'm definitly in need of one, oh the problems of remodeling.
I thought the gymsuits were red and grey. I'm ashamed to say, I don't think I even took it home very often! My daughters insist on theirs being washed everyday! I told them to get a life.
As for clothes for the reunion, I was thinking casual right, like jeans. Whats everyone wearing?
Curious in LA.

Anonymous said...

hope everyone had a great easter. i am more than happy to be a junior slacker crasher. i wonder if elaine and julie paque still have the red and white stripe speedo swim suits from the ol swim team. we could maybe where those under the gym suits.

Anonymous said...

I remember getting striped tans from swimming outdoors in those striped suits. Looked like a zebra. No way would I want to go back to the nylon suits!

Nope, don't have it anymore, but still swimming (Masters) and have been through zillions of suits since SHS. Besides it wouldn't fit anymore...neither would the gym suit.

Elaine has been emailing people though Classmates.com and she's gotten some replies that there are lots of other jr slackers that will show up. I believe she's sent her check.

Anonymous said...

So I guess the Reunion is now for Junior Slackers and the True Slackers? The more the merrier, if that's what everyone wishes.......and that's fine by me, if everyone agrees.

Anonymous said...

Yes Yes Yes!!!! Slackers and Jr.'s Unite!!!

Anonymous said...

happy to hear your happy to have us. claudia can't wait to see you

Anonymous said...

Me too! Now what are we WEARING??? I thought we were all gonna dress up on Saturday night. Although I'm still not going to dance...I really don't know how.

Anonymous said...

I remember being at the 20 yr and everyone was dressed up. Who has the picture? What do you mean you aren't dancing claudia? we'll do a group dance just for you claudia and put you right in the middle

Anonymous said...

Dressing up here in LA is nice jeans, fun top and heels ( guys you can leave yours at home )!
I guess we can all determine what feels good and comfortable for ourselves.
The 20 year reunion had a lot of suits.
But, if we are having a dress code, what shall it be?
Again, curious in LA.

Anonymous said...

No Way will I adhere to any dress code!!!!! That's one of the reasons I'm not in highschool any more & I don't want to see any folder with the " rules & regulations" on it either! I say come as you wish - this is a gathering of friends not a pagent let's hope the spirit is with us & not the material world. Enough.

Anonymous said...

Material-masheriel, Greta! This thing is all about how I look.
God, can't believe I have to tell you that!

Anonymous said...

And Laurel! Can I borrow some nice heels??? They don't sell them in Montana.

Jeanne, I KNEW I should have kept my big fat fingers quiet about the dancing. Dumb dumb dumb. And no one can make me. I was traumatized at a 7th grade dance once. I've not recovered.

Anonymous said...

Amen, Greta! Claudia, you go girl!
I will love the eclectic look we will all have and should.
We will stand out as where we live , I'm sure. Last time I got in the elevator for our 20th, some guy said are you from LA, I can tell by your shoes!
They were Todd driving shoes! Very weird.
It's all about being ourselves!
I still think disco attire would be very cool!!!
I'm so dated, it's depressing, must be the remodel.

Anonymous said...

If my life depended on it, I could not tell you what Todd Driving Shoes are! Laurel, I cannot WAIT to see you!!

Anonymous said...

Claudia, what size are you? They are on their way!!!!

Anonymous said...

By July, at least two sizes smaller. I'll letcha know. Thanks!!

Anonymous said...

I want to dress up. I do. But the fashions now are almost as wretched as they were in the 70's. Well, nah. Nothing's that bad.

So much to think about...

I have passed the word to my Slacker Junior brother Jack, who will tell his cohort. He is working on a mid-70s music playlist that I'm excited about! More later...

Dress code, hmmmm. No dress code, I'd just say dress however makes you feel good. I am so boring lately, I rarely dress up, so I might go for it.

Re: dancing, oh we are definitely dancing. Except: I probably have to have (minor) knee surgery next month, for a torn miniscus (sp?) So who knows. I was going to do a whole blog post about the way my body is falling apart. At the doctor's office today I couldn't read the MRI consent forms b/c I forgot my reading glasses.

Also, Nora inspired me and my brother with a fun activity her school does every spring: Air Band. People pick a song and then they lip-synch to it, but with major choreography. The other option of course is karaoke. Friday night? If I'm not in a full body cast by then.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, okay Joan -- YOU FIRST. Then I'll come up and lip sync to, om...KASHMIR. Or no -- nobody knows the lyrics to that one, do they? Although it might be hilarious if we each wrote down the words we've actually been singing to it all these years. Then compare notes.

Whatteryou gonna sing, Joan? Wait --don't tell me!

"Sparks fly out on East Street when the boy prophets go walking handsome and hot!"

Someone tell me the first line to Kashmir, quick!!

Anonymous said...

Wait, don't. They're probably so stupid it would ruin for me forever!

Anonymous said...

Joan...I had surgery about 8 years ago for a torn meniscus. The thing I remember most is that my knee felt better the day after surgery than it had felt in months. I also watched them do the surgery on the monitor.

Anonymous said...

Ooh, ouch! Julie! What was that like? I can watch other peoples' surgeries-- but I can't imagine watching myself go under the knife-- YIKES!

Unknown said...

Thanks, Julie. I really want to get it done, because ever since he told me it looked like a real problem it's hurt more!

Claudia, "E Street Shuffle" is impossible to sing. I would do a better job on "Thunder Road" but the lyrics might scare us -- "so you're scared and you're thinkin' that maybe we (is it "you" or "we"???) ain't that young anymore." Written when he was about 25...

I'd have to give it a lot of thought!

Anonymous said...

Heels??? Well of course YOU can still wear heels Laurel, lol.
I will try and suffer through it all. (sigh) Just kidding kinda!

Anonymous said...

I know, Martine. Don't you love the way Laurel says that? "Cute top and heels" -- so breezy!
Maybe she can send you a pair, too.

What are you singing, by the way?

Anonymous said...

I think platforms are the way to go, they are back you know!
Martine, I'm in the desert had to come in from the pool too hot, are you out shoveling the snow in your heels? HA HA

Anonymous said...

Singing??? Is that a requirement as well? God help us Claudia! "She" can wear heels, tight jeans and probably belt out a tune. How do we get revenge on that???

Anonymous said...

We just know that we have "really good personalities."

Anonymous said...

Just got done with my singing coach, can't wait for the reunion!

Anonymous said...

Oh you little @#$%#$@*!!!

Anonymous said...

You guys are too too much.
I do have a pair of bright orange platforms with white rubber soles, but nothing to wear them with.....
Maybe we should all just dress a like?? Ha,
I guess I am off to bed.......see you all later.

Anonymous said...

Well said, Martine!! And nighty-night, Deb. xx

Anonymous said...

I seem to be a bit late on the conversations but wow you guys are something. I am wearing a mini skirt, betty grables and a tight top and singing I will Survive OR I am Woman. I can't wait to see everyone. If I don't wear that maybe a nice pair of silky pjs. Well I have to pretend to get some work done so talk later. Oh claudia I know you haven't forgotton how persistant I was. I haven't changed a bit. Put them dancing shoes on girl were doing a few spins on the floor, you and me
Laurel, if you didn't have the shoe size of my granddaughter I might borrow a pair of your shoes
bye all

Anonymous said...

I'll be in the front row, Jeanne!

Anonymous said...

IT IS MARTINE'S BIRTHDAY TODAY SO EVERYONE SAY HAPPY B DAY TO. I KNOW ITS LATE BUT I'M AT WORK AND ON THE PHONE WITH HER NOW AND STILL AT WORK SO GOTTA GO LUV YA MARTINE

Anonymous said...

i must be really tired or i can't talk and type at the same time. anyways hope you all made sense out of that mess. Oh by the way Martine you still are older than me.

Anonymous said...

Happy Birthday Martine!!!!!!
As I said to you earlier today wish I could send a cake as beautiful as the one you had for me!
Sending lots of love and kisses your way to my oldest and I mean really old friend!
Love you, L

Have been waiting with my check to see what and where my hubby will be during the reunion- now that I know that others sibs are coming I may have to bring my brother as my date- he was actually '74- but I won't tell if you don't! I save EVERYTHING and my daughter wears something of mine from high school at least once a week. It's amazing how she fits them and looks good too! She wore a prom dress of mine this year and looked cuter than I did! Becky Willis

Hi Becky! You should comment a more recent post or no one will see it.
