Hey Dan, I think your post is fine and YES!! The Priebes were my parents' best friends when I was growing up. My first words were, "Oshkosh, my gosh" because of all the trips we took to Oshkosh to see them. Carl once told me if I kept eating so many bananas I would turn into a monkey. His work is incredible. I'll have to write you about your mom, and I think I should do a hello post. I'll try that now....

Oh lordy, life can be so strange!
Claud, I was reading your post and wondering "why is Claudia spelling Karl's name with a C, and why is she referring to 'the Priebe's when Karl was a single Gay man?"
So I did a little research, and guess what? Two (C) (K)arl Priebe's!!!
What are the odds of two kooky kids from the village of Shorewood who are the same age, who each has a parent that taught art in Whitefish Bay, and each of those parents having a best friend named Karl or Carl Priebe, who is a famous artist?
And then the kicker, these family friends are two different people who just happen to share the same last name and just happen to have a first name that sounds the same?
Too weird.
If you you do a google images search on both our Priebe's you will find that they had totally different styles and worked in different mediums (thank god for that, because any more coincidences would have been too much).
Okay, I guess we can cross off that particular connection, but I'm still wondering if your dad and my mom knew each other...
