HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all you Ghouls and Goblins from my haunted past. Hope you all have a frightfully good Holiday!
Thanks to whoever posted the tombstone link, I have spent the afternoon freaking out my friends by sending them personalized grave stones...a huge, huge hit (and then there are the ones that just want to hit...me)!

Hi Dan,

SO glad you found it -- I wonder if you'll be the only one to stop by...Happy Halloween there, old Slacker!

Love,

Claudia

Dan-- you are too funny!
We missed you at the reunion!!
Claudia-- Thanks for posting this--
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well....

Hi Anita,

I agree: Dan was missed.

Day 2 of YEECH, I feel like crap! And so the season begins...

Hey for non Halloween purposes, you can make a streetsign with your message, too. I think that is so cool.

Hi Claud and Anita, Yeah I wish I had been there too. Maybe next time.

Hi Jill!!!

I remember you perfectly as a 7th grader! But I'm not sure I remember you in high school...were you still at SHS? I was and I wasn't, if you know what I mean...I mighta been a tiny bit stoned, and can't remember everything, don't you know.

what are you doing, where do you live and all? I'd love to know more!

Welcome Jill:..........(!)

How did you find out about this Site? Where are you living?

Claudia, I hope you feel better!

We're still eating our Halloween candy.....and our local dentist buys the gobs of candy from local kids and sends the $$$ proceeds to disadvantaged people......

OK, now back to the swing and Lindy hop dancing.......Have any of you in Milwaukee recently gone to the Milwaukee Ale House (on S. Water) on Tuesday night to enjoy the Big Band fun there?

wow! how cool is this! thank you for remembering me claudia...that feels good! i remember you also and yes i was at shs until midway thru soph. year, then got yanked as part of some family stuff going on....
dan...my 2 brothers and sister graduated from shs and must have been contacted for a shs directory or something and given my email cuz i got something about 2 wks ago and i think that is how i found this site. i have so enjoyed the trip down memory lane! so here is the condensed version.....i live just outside new haven, ct....i have 3 sons (21, 18, 14), a husband and no dog. my oldest is a senior at uconn (which must make me REALLY old!) i am in graduate school (yeesh!) (just got home from class and sat down to finish tommorrows paper and found your messages...much more fun!)
and dan...if not bennett then who?
would it be boring and repetitive if i asked what you are all doing, and where? besides eating candy of course...i'd LOVE to know!
jill (and thanks for responding to me...you made my day!)

I have to tell you, Jill, one of the hilarious memories I have of BOTH of us are those 7th grade pictures -- I remember yours so well because I think you made sure your hair was in place under your glasses for the picture -- I made sure mine was as much in my face as I could get away with, too. I thought of that tonight and had to laugh...

Anyway, how excellent to live in New Haven! I lived there when I was 3 years old, and I DO remember it. And three boys, one husband, no dog -- do you also have no cat and no fish? :)
I What are you studying in school? I would finish that iddy-biddy Associates degree I started years ago, but I hate going to school and I hate homework even worse...my hat's off to you!

I live in Montana with my husband Robert (contractor) and daughter Madeline Jane(10)and Cairn Terrier Agatha. I've been writing the same damn book now for YEARS and I still working on it. If you want to know what it's about go to my blog: http://practicalslayer.blogspot.com

You can even see an oldish picture of my handsome husband Robert and daughter Maddie there -- under a post called "The Natural."

Did you find our links that Peter Chow provided to see pics from the reunion? That should be an eyefull!

Who were your pals in school? Wasn't there another Jill who was a girlfriend of yours? Or were you friends with Caryn Polansky? I just can't quite remember that part...

So glad you made it! Hope others will check back here and see your post. People don't seem to be coming over as much as before the reunion, which is too bad but perfectly understandable.

I'll check back, and it's really good to see you here!

claudia....you have an impressive memory! i shudder to think of the pic with the hair beneath the glasses.....i'm a lasik girl now! my kids love to laugh at any hideous old pics they can find. i visited your blog quickly today and will go back with more time...you are a talented and prolific writer! when you embark on your book tour let me know....i know someone with a great bookstore here who brings new authors in all the time.
my early buds were lori hoober and kelly litton (i got to lake bluff in 4th grade) thalia pulver lived next door for a time....caryn polansky, jodie curro, debbie herz i counted among my good friends...i went to homecoming dance freshman year with kris johnson...hale alverson lived up the street and he and i watched wrestling every saturday aft. i'm trying to locate the brain cells that will help me remember more. after years of building and remodeling homes with my husband (he is a builder and home inspector) i am in school for a masters in school counseling. it is a 3 year program full time....what was i thinking? i would never make it without my boys and their tech help....last time i was in college it was with my smith corona. montana must be stunning....never been. your daughter looks sweet...don't they grow up too fast??
dan e....i remember you but where were we neighbors? and where are you now?

Hi, Jill! I remember you a little bit! I'm looking at those 7th grade pics right now, and they are SO cute-- (I should post them on the blog!) You must come to our next reunion! Do you want your email address on the list on the blog? Hey, I have 3 daughters ages 21, 20, and 18, and a son age 12! My husband is an electrician, and we live in Michigan, but we still have family back in Shorewood-- so we try to get back there once in a while.
Looks like Dan E might have his hands full right now with that newborn baby boy-- (he could at least answer that he is a writer and lives out in California!)
(Also, the "Dan B" that shows up here once in a while is actually Daniel Berghaus.)

hi anita! as i remember you were a very cute little blond?! wow you are lucky...you got that 4th kid. my husband cut me off after 3...i would have kept going...he decided they are too expensive! (what a beautiful baby dan!! what fun!) we get back to milw now and then also....my parents are there and one brother. i am going in jan. with one boy for a few days. my kids have always thought it funny when they get off the plane in wisc...everyone is dressed like them....packer gear! they are hard core packer fans (badgers too)and in elem. school wore nothing but....and only did art projects in packer green and yellow.
sure put my name on the blog if you don't mind.....i can't even picture the 7th grade pictures....i have to look for some when i get to my parents. thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
jill
oh...by the way...about 4 yrs. ago i was taking my son to a friends house in hamden (next town over) and when i pulled up in front of the house there was a familiar looking person walking a dog on the sidewalk. we both recognized each other at the same moment...it was ann wettengel! we talked for a while and exchanged #'s and then lost each other again....i'll have to look and see if she still lives there.

hey Anne did sign up to come to the reunion, but canceled last-minute!
Is North Haven the name of the town?
We have more details.

First off, congratulations to Dan Edelstein! Wow! I mean, WOW! You must feel like the luckiest guy in the world. You are an inspiration to me. Maybe, if I am lucky, by the time I'm sixty I'll become a Pop too. The best of luck to you and your wife.
Now all this talk about CT has me feeling nostalgic. New Haven used to be one of my old stomping grounds. My best friend grew up in Brandford and I used to visit there a lot in the 80's and 90's, and got to know New Haven like the back of my hand. It's gone through a lot of changes over the past few decades but I still have some great memories of all the time I spent there.
Oh, tried the name thing to see how many of me there are in America, and found out that there are none. I mean none! According to them even I don't exist. Disconcerting to say the least.
Still not able to find a mental picture of you Jill, but I am glad you found Cladia's blog nonetheless.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

To Dan Berghaus and folks:

Great to hear from you again.....How's the Swing/Lindy scene in NYC?

Here's we're dealing with the SAD oil spill on the Bay.

Thousands of ducks and seabirds are getting hit.

I may go volunteer this weekend with clean towels as we try to save some of these precious
critters.

Maybe will get to go dancing outdoors to the weekly Lindy Hop Swing Dancing at Golden Gate Park in
SF. The littl' guy sits on the chest backpack while Linda and I do the "Balboa" front to front.
Fun!

BTW, responding to queries, I'm in N. CA in Marin Co. (25 miles north of SF) in the foothills
somewhat close to the ocean.....and happy to be a Wildlife Biologist/Writer -- with the freelancing
gigs on the side including teaching at local community colleges (birding classes) and leading
birding outings/tours for adults. Fun (too!)

Last Thanksgiving, I got back to WI for the first time in ages for the holidays -- and Dave Meyer
and I went birding for a spell at Madison's Picnic Point. Dave's a good birder! -- and now an
empty nesting Daddy with his littl' girl off to Wash. U. and a fab softball player too......
